Seasonal shift planning: prepare before opening
A seasonal roster starts with opening hours, roles and known availability, not with filling every blank cell.

Who this is for
For the manager and team responsible for the workflow described below; guest-facing and internal access must remain separate.
Daily workflow
Illustrative scenario — not a customer case study
Illustrative example: a small summer restaurant opens five evenings a week. The manager first lists service roles, HR checks availability and staff review the draft. The example defines a review process, not a recommended staffing level.
Preparation checklist
- 01
Write opening dates, service periods and closed days in one calendar.
- 02
List required roles for each service before assigning names; mark training and handover time separately.
- 03
Collect availability and absences, then assign a named manager to resolve conflicts.
- 04
Publish a draft, ask employees to check it, and record who approves later changes.
- 05
Choose a start month and whole-month service duration in pricing; check applicable working-time rules with a qualified adviser.
- 06
Run an absence rehearsal before publishing: remove one person from the draft, identify which role becomes uncovered and name who may approve a replacement. Do not solve every gap by silently extending another person’s hours.
- 07
Keep a change log outside the roster if needed: record the old shift, new shift, decision-maker and how the employee was informed. Ask the employee to confirm receipt through the agreed channel; do not assume the software records acknowledgment.
- 08
At the end of the first week, compare planned and recorded hours, note recurring coverage gaps and revise the next draft. Bring one sample export and your employee count to the demo so HR pricing and payroll handover can be checked separately.
Questions before you decide
Does this page guarantee the complete workflow is enabled for my venue?
No. Use the described scenario as a demo checklist. Confirm the supported steps, permissions and exact scope before operational use.
Where can I verify the price and billing unit?
Use the published pricing page for listed modules and packages. HR is per organization; other listed modules are per establishment. Unlisted scope and integrations require a quotation, not an assumed package inclusion.
Availability and scope
Listed in the public offering. Confirm actual availability, permissions and your exact workflow in a demo before ordering.
Limits to check
This checklist is a management process, not a legally sufficient staffing plan. Rest periods, contracts, payroll rules and export suitability need qualified local review; seasonal billing does not define employment dates.
